School Closure

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister, Cannon Park Primary School will be closed to all children on Tuesday 5th January.

Tomorrow, school will contact parents of vulnerable children as well as critical workers to arrange in-school provision, which will commence on Wednesday 6th January.

Remote Learning will start on Tuesday 5th January for all children. Reception will be able to access Remote Learning through Tapestry and Years 1-6 will use Google Classroom. More information will be sent home tomorrow, including all relevant log-in information.

School Games Values

Well done to Year 2 who have won a School Games Values award for their determination and teamwork. They really are a wonderful team of children and are always so supportive of each other. What a lovely way to finish the term. Well done Year 2, we are all so proud of you, and well done to Mrs Amphlett!

Carols Around the Tree

December would usually see the hall full of children, staff and parents, enjoying a Christmas musical extravaganza in the shape of our annual concert, Carols Around the Tree. Unfortunately, we are unable to gather together this Christmas but that didn’t stop Miss Ashby! Pizza Pizza

As part of their Design and Technology project, Year 4 have been busy making their own pizzas this week. They enjoyed eating them during their Christmas party. Well done, Year 4!

Christmas Dinner

Today, the children enjoyed their Christmas Dinner, cooked and served by our fantastic Aspens staff. We had a record number of children signed up to Christmas Dinner today and the food went down extremely well as always. Thank you!

Building Bridges

This week, Year 3 have had fun being engineers.  Firstly, they learnt about the different types of bridges. Then, they designed their own bridges. Next, they used recycled materials to build their own bridge with a partner. Finally, we tested the bridges – would a toy car roll across the bridge and would they support a 1kg weight?

 

A new chair for Baby Bear!

/ / Design and Technology, Year 1

Year 1 read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and knew straight away that they wanted to create a new chair for Baby Bear! They planned out their designs and had great fun using junk modelling materials to make them. They are looking forward to evaluating their chairs tomorrow. Well done Year 1!

 

Alien Invasion!

Year 2 have been making moving aliens during DT Week. The children have enjoyed designing their aliens, creating them using cardboard and finding ways to join parts together. I’m sure you’ll agree, they are out of this world!

Kandinsky

Year 1 have been busy using their artistic skills to create a calendar in the style of ‘Wassily Kandinsky’. They used a range of colours to show different emotions. Well done Year 1!
