School Ambassadors
At Cannon Park, we are very proud of our School Ambassadors, who take their roles and responsibilities seriously. Our School Ambassadors are role models for Cannon Park demonstrating our school values: teamwork, respect, integrity, enjoyment and discipline. These pupils bring queries, suggestions or important information to the meetings so that decisions can be made.
The School Ambassadors give all children a meaningful voice. Each year, a group of children from Year 5/6 are democratically elected for the role. Two ambassadors become the ‘voice’ for each year group, representing their class at meetings to talk over important whole-school issues. The children also take an active role in raising money for charities and school projects.

Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies is a wonderful program that brings children together to share the joy of reading. Pupils from Years 4 to 6 volunteer to support younger children in Years 1 to 3 by reading with them each week during school time. This helps younger learners build confidence, improve their reading skills, and develop a love for books, while older students gain leadership experience and the satisfaction of helping others succeed.
Language Heroes
Our Cannon Park Language Heroes are a group of children in Year 5 and Year 6, who are passionate about helping new arrivals, who may not speak English as a first language, settle into school. Our Language Heroes speak another language as well as English so they can help others, who may not speak as much English. They meet regularly to work together to enhance our school learning environment.
Recently, they have created welcome posters to put up around the school. Many of our Language Heroes can speak another language so they may also help new arrivals settle in to our school community with the ability to speak multiple languages.
