Governors are responsible for overseeing the management side of a school: strategy, policy, budgeting and staffing. They enable their school to run as effectively as possible, working alongside senior leaders and supporting teachers to provide excellent education to children.
Structure of Governing Body
At Cannon Park Primary School, governors meet for a full governors meeting every half term (six times per academic year). The focus of each meeting alternates between Performance, Quality and Standards (PQS) and Resource Management. There is a chair of governors, a vice-chair and a chair each for PQS and Resources. Governors also meet school leaders throughout the year in small groups to focus on different aspects of school, which are then reported back to all governors.
